과거

과거로 사용시 could와 다름

I was able to get a ticket  과거능력, 티켓살 수 있었어

I was able to get rid of it  *get rid of it 제거하다    제거할 수 있었어

= 정확히 할 수 있는 일 / 실제로 했다

 

I could swim : 원하면 과거에 할 수 있었던 능력

 

I was able to pick him up 

 

We were able to pay him back   *실제로 갚은 것

We were able to book a room *실제로 예약한 것
